Greene County’s football program collected seven turnovers in the 47-7 victory over Saydel (Des Moines) last Friday at Linduska Field in the Homecoming game. That’s the most since the 2023 team collected seven vs. Atlantic nearly two years to the day. The Rams have collected 12 turnovers in the first four games this season including at least one in every contest.

The Rams had six interceptions vs. the Eagles and one fumble recovery while the ’23 team had three picks and four recoveries of Trojans’ fumbles. Senior Broc Stream intercepted two Saydel passes, including one he returned 30 yards for a touchdown. Stream had a 29 yard interception return in the Atlantic game two years ago and he now has seven for his career including three this season.

In the four games this season the Rams have nine interceptions. They collected 11 interceptions and seven fumble recoveries in 10 games last season when they won five games and lost five.

The Rams are 3-1 heading into Friday’s “Battle of the Cowbell” in Perry vs. the 0-4 Blue Jays. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. from Dewey Field with coverage at 6:30 p.m. on KG98 and www.raccoonvalleyracio.com.
