The Bagley Firefighters Association is holding their second Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser of the year on Sunday.
Fire Chief Jeremy Cooper says that the breakfast is a great fundraiser for the department, with many people coming from all over the county to enjoy the meal and talk with the firefighters. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio that proceeds from the free will donation meal will go towards replacing their JAWS of life as well as other equipment needs.
“We are purchasing some updated JAWS units. We don’t use them every day, but it’s nice to have a set, (especially) where we’ve been the only department up in the north end of Guthrie County to carry those for the last 30 years, roughly. We did an upgrade about 10 years ago, and we’re looking at doing another upgrade and replacing those tools with some newer tech ones that are completely battery powered and give us a little bit more mobility.”
Cooper mentions that the breakfast will be from 7am to 1pm at the fire hall, with the free will donation meal to include pancakes, eggs and sausage, with coffee, milk and orange juice to drink. He adds that if individuals can’t make it to the breakfast but still want to donate, they can call him at 641-431-1358, or mail a check to the Bagley Firefighters Association at PO Box 9 Bagley, IA 50026.
