On Tuesday, the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs volleyball team traveled to Norwalk High School to face off against the Warriors. After falling by 10 in the second set, the Mustangs would bounce back to defeat Norwalk 3-2.

History would repeat itself but with a different outcome as the Mustangs and the Warriors would go down to the wire playing through all five sets, but Norwalk would come away with the victory in October of 2024. This year, DCG would bounce back and win the final three sets straight to rewrite history.

After falling in the first two sets, DCG would bounce back with a decisive 25-10 victory to push momentum back into their favor. Ava Smid would lead the charge, ending the match with four aces, helping push DCG into the fifth set after a big block from Jacey McFarland securing a 25-20 victory in the fourth set. Smid, McFarland and the Mustangs would push on in the fifth, to pick up a 3-2 comeback victory defeating Norwalk in the final set, 15-11.

DCG advances to 14-7 and prepare for a long day of volleyball action on Saturday, traveling to Nevada High School for the Nevada Varsity Tournament.
