After starting the season with five losses, the varsity volleyball team at Greene County High School is 6-7 overall prior to hosting Nevada tomorrow night in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference play.
Coach Chris Heisterkamp’s Rams are 1-0 in the conference and they’ll face a Cubs team that is ranked number 11 in Class 4A by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union.
Ram senior Natalee Baugh talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about the direction she feels the team is taking. “I feel really good about it! We just keep pushing things and seeing what works best and what doesn’t work as well, and then we push really hard in games and in practices. We’ve had some early morning practices and some are two, two-and-a-half hours, so we just really push and try to do what works best with us.”
Below the varsity level action begins Thursday at 5 p.m. with the varsity match scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. start.
