
Student athletes from Adel-DeSoto-Minburn High School, who partner with the Waukee School District for swimming and diving, notched first place finishes at the latest meet in Johnston on Tuesday.
As a team, Waukee fell to Johnston by a final score of 97 to 89. ADM senior Emma Popp raced to first place in the 100 Yard Backstroke, winning with a time of 1:02.17 over Johnston freshman Norah Baker, who finished at 1:06.42. Popp also competed in the 200 Yard Individual Medley, but did not finish due to being disqualified. In the diving portion, senior Eliza Schmidt captured first with a total score of 231.50 over Warrior teammate Neelie Streit at 219.80.
Waukee will be traveling to Valley High School in West Des Moines for their next meet on Saturday for the Tiger Tankers Invitational, starting at 8:30am.
