The Jefferson Parks and Recreation Department has a popular program coming up for youth, with a deadline of tomorrow to sign up. 

JPRD Assistant Director Henry Pohlmeyer says the Mini Cheerleading Camp is for pre-kindergarten through fifth grade boys and girls. He states that the two practices are this coming Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30-5:45pm at the Greene County Community Center, with the performance at halftime of the home Greene County High School football game next Friday at 6:30pm. He details that this is a well-attended program.

“We have, right now, like 60 and I think we’re only going to keep on growing. So it’s usually quite an ordeal and a good time had by all.” 

Pohlmeyer adds that the Greene County High School Cheerleading Coach Deb Wolterman and some of the varsity cheer squad will lead the camp. The registration fee is $20 for community center members and $25 for non-members. Contact the community center at 515-386-3412 or click here to sign up.
