A big art event is happening in central Iowa and it will be coming through Perry this weekend.

Perry Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the 11th Annual Art Harvest Tour will stretch 80 miles passing through five communities. She points out that the event is a studio tour that includes 10 stops at different businesses and 24 artists’ work will be on display. Mary Rose Collective and Betsy Peterson Designs will be two of the 10 locations within Perry, and Pasutti highlights that it’s a great opportunity to check out all the cool art in Iowa.

“You’re actually going into the studios and meeting with the artists, you can watch demonstrations, or works in progress. Art on the Prairie will be here in November, (and) that is a very different type of experience in the sense that everyone is set up and gearing to sell. This is really a unique opportunity to go behind the scenes at a slower pace to learn more about the (artistic) process.”

Pasutti illustrates the tour will be happening tomorrow and Sunday from 10am-5pm, with the other communities being Woodward, Ogden, Boone, and Ames.
