The Guthrie County Youth Foundation is accepting scholarship applications for the Class of 2026.
The Foundation awards scholarships to students planning to further their education in vocational, technical or medical fields. Foundation Secretary/Treasurer Luann Waldo mentions that for the Class of 2025, 21 applications were received, and 17 scholarships were awarded. The Eddie McCartney Memorial Scholarship was awarded to eight medical students, and with a $100 addition from the GCYF, those students received a total of $350. Another nine students will receive the GCYF Scholarship of $400. These students will receive the scholarships in early 2026 after a submission to Waldo of successful completion of the first semester of college. A list of students who received scholarships can be found in this story online.
