For the 95th time since 1928, high school football teams from Jefferson and Perry will meet tonight at Perry’s Dewey Field. The Rotary Clubs from the two communities donated an actual cowbell that year and it’s lived with the winning team ever since. Greene County holds a 63-29-2 advantage since the cowbell was introduced, but the series goes all the way back to 1898 when the Perry YMCA team was a winner over Jefferson High School.

Coverage on KGRA 98.9 FM and KDLS 1310 AM starts at 6:30 tonight, as does streaming on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. Kickoff is at 7 o’clock.

This is the start of District 6 play in Class 3A. The Rams went 3-1 in non-district games while the Blue Jays are 0-4.
