The Guthrie County Hospital Foundation is hosting their third annual 5k next weekend.

Foundation Director Dennis Flanery says that they’ve held the event at different times of the year, but picked October 4th as October is Physical Therapy Rehabilitation Month, and National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, allowing them to bring attention to both topics. He adds that people don’t have to run the 5k, but can walk it as well. Registration is taking place up to the start of the race, with a registration period from 9:30-10:30am for those who don’t sign up beforehand.

Flanery explains that the race will start and end at the hospital, with a registration fee of $25 for those 19 years of age and older for the 5k, and $20 for those 18 and under for the 5k, and for kids 12 and under who want to run the 1k that will also be going on. To finish the day, there will be a health fair in the fitness center of the hospital.
