An Iowa-based legislator, who works at the federal level, made a stop at a company in Perry on Friday.

United States Senator Chuck Grassley went for a visit at Percival Scientific for a chance to have a question and answer session with the employees as well as city officials. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the organization is sophisticated in the way they run operations and how they craft unique items. 

Percival Scientific was awarded with the Small Business of the Year Award from the U.S. Small Business Administration in 2025, and Grassley was grateful for the opportunity to stop in their facility.

“Now that’s something that happens every year, and I’ve known a lot of small business men and women of the year, but I don’t get a chance to visit every one of their businesses.”

Grassley admits that he was surprised to learn that Percival Scientific not only delivers top quality products to companies within the U.S., but will ship internationally to other countries.
