The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Volleyball Team is attempting to hone in on their skills as the last quarter of the season progresses.

ADM is 15-6 through 21 games, and recently suffered their first Raccoon River Conference loss over the past couple of years, losing in three sets to Ballard this past Tuesday. ADM Head Coach Trevor Irwin says that he’s seen a massive improvement in the team’s serving ability from a year ago, giving the Tigers more confidence to score early. However, if ADM would like to make a deep run in the postseason, Irwin stresses an area the squad is working on.

“We’re really trying to be a scrappy team, so how do we pick up balls and defense, and then once we do pick those up, what’s our quality of those types of digs. So really trying to make sure that we are keeping our offense in system, so our hitters can get really good swings.”

Irwin notes that the coaches are working with the hitters to practice aiming their shots in precise locations. ADM will be back in Adel on Tuesday for another conference matchup versus Gilbert for Teacher Appreciation Night, starting at 7:15pm.
