
Playing for the third time in five days, the Paton-Churdan volleyball team was in action on Saturday. The Rockets took part in a triangular in Panora at Panorama High School and Coach Nikki Uebel’s Rockets went 1-1 on the day. First up was Perry and P-C stopped a six match losing streak with a two set sweep by scores of 25-21 and 25-23. The Rockets lost both sets to Panorama 17-25, 18-25.
Coach Uebel’s team is now 2-7 on the season. The coach told Raccoon Valley Radio her team had a good day with a lot of hustle and offense. She reports Ella Tasler had five ace serves, two assisted blocks, four kills, seven assists, and 11 digs. Mia Russell had four kills, three assists, and nine digs, with Alivya Smith at four kills, three aces, one assist, and 10 digs. Edynn Smith had a team high 16 digs, plus four kills and one ace serve. Chloe Happe recorded two blocks and two assisted blocks, two digs, and one ace. Maggie Reed had seven digs and an assist and the coach credited Isabell Rice for for playing well. “She had touches on several blocks and contributed well to the team!”
P-C plays Tuesday in Anita vs. CAM in Rolling Valley Activities Conference action, then hosts Coon Rapids-Bayard on Thursday in Churdan.
