Greene County freshman Ava Hinote is swimming for Carroll High under an athletic sharing agreement. The Tigers were at the Pink in the Pool event on Saturday at Des Moines Lincoln High School. She earned praise from Carroll head coach Deb Danner who said, “The girls had a good day. Ava did very well placing in both the 200 yard freestyle and 100 yard breaststroke. Both events were new to her.”

Hinote was fifth in the 200 yard freestyle in 2:17.98 and sixth in the 100 yard breaststroke in the 1:22.93. She led off the second place yard 200 freestyle relay in 1:51.36 and anchored the eighth place 400 yard free relay in 4:45.61.

Boone placed first with 488 points, followed by Lincoln with 361, Cedar Rapids Washington 350, Indianola 305, Carroll 271, and 243 for Des Moines East.
