First responders went to two separate traffic crashes Friday late afternoon in Greene County.

According to the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, the first incident happened at 4:10pm in the 700 block of School Street in Churdan. The Sheriff’s Office says Nancy Plantz of Fonda was northbound on North Street, when a 12-year-old suddenly came out onto the road on a motorized scooter and Plantz’ vehicle struck the minor. The Sheriff’s Office reports that the youth suffered only minor injuries.

The other incident occurred six minutes later at 4:16pm between a recreational vehicle and a motorcycle on 220th Street and W Avenue. The crash report states that Lance Ross of Grand Junction was driving a Harley Davidson motorcycle, traveling west on 220th Street and struck the driver’s side of a 2004 Holiday Rambler that was driven by Rodney Winger of Beaver, as Ross was trying to pass. The Sheriff’s Office says only minor injuries were reported at the scene, with the motorcycle totaled and $10,000 of damages was done to the RV. Ross was also cited for unsafe passing, failure to provide financial liability-accident and no valid motorcycle license.
