An annual fall motor vehicle event will be held in Perry on Saturday.

The 11th PerryDice Cruiser Car and Motorcycle Show is taking place along 2nd Street, with a chance to check out plenty of vehicles. Chairperson and Co-Founder Joe Shelly shares that when Co-Founder Dean Berkland and himself began the event in 2014, there were between 35-40 vehicles in attendance, but says that number rose up to 150 in 2024.

However, Shelly details that over 200 vehicles have pre-registered this year and that the City of Perry is allowing the event to extend another block on 2nd Street to accommodate. He shares that the event is open to the public for no charge, but a free-will donation will be accepted with the proceeds helping the Raccoon River Pet Rescue, which Shelly loves giving back to them.

“Joelle Miner, she has been a big part of supporting us with this, and every year we take all of the proceeds and we donate it to them. And they buy supplies for their pet rescues that they have over there. We raise quite a bit for the pet rescue and we look forward to doing that again, and they’ve been very helpful with just helping us out.”

Shelly outlines that there will be raffle prizes given away from 55 businesses in the Perry community, and people can qualify for a ticket as long as they make a donation to the Raccoon River Pet Rescue. He cautions drivers that most of 2nd Street will be walled off due to the car show, which is happening on Saturday from 10am-2pm. Raccoon Valley Radio’s Big Red Radio will be in attendance for the duration of the event.
