The Dallas County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Office has a program coming up on Thursday in Perry relating to plants.

According to Dallas County Extension Marketing Manager Sarah Wood, the organization is holding a Seed Saving Workshop that will teach participants how to properly care for their vegetable or flower seeds. She mentions the program will be led by a master gardener and is helpful to people who want to learn more about drying and storing those kinds of seeds. Wood expresses that the class is perfect for a new gardener.

“Even if you’re just maybe getting into gardening, it’s a fantastic opportunity to learn how to save your own seeds, which allows you to be a little more economical about your planting for next year.”

Wood notes the program is open to the public for free, but people will need to register beforehand. She adds that the class is taking place on Thursday at the Learning Center at the Perry Town Craft Gallery from 6-7:30pm. The link to register can be found by clicking here.
