The lone home cross country meet at Perry is Thursday.  The competition will be stiff with 11 schools attending the coed meet.  Boys will take the course at 4:50P and the girls at 5:20P.

The Leon Fox Invite is Thursday at the Perry Golf and Country Club.  Parking is sparse at the course so shuttles will be running from the high school every five to ten minutes.  That’s not the only convenience for spectators.  Perry Head Coach, Nathan Krohn, is looking forward to hosting the event.

Our course is unique because it’s very audience friendly.  You’re going to be able to see the runners several times throughout the course.  You can basically track them throughout the entire thing.”

Perry has performed well the last few weeks.  Lily Myers hasn’t finished worse than fourth this year and the Bluejays finished in third and second in their last two meets.  The competition level will probably be an all time high on Thursday.

“Some high quality competition.  It’s going to be a really good look at a kind of a precursor to a state qualifying type of meet here.”

Krohn continued about the reasoning for the name of the Leon Fox Invite.

“It was named after our founding coach Leon Fox.  His son took over the coaching duties after Leon left.”
