The leader of the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Community School District provides an update on the progress on the new high school under construction.

Superintendent Greg Dufoe tells Raccoon Valley Radio that despite some weather challenges during the summer, the new high school, which is on the south side of Adel, is coming along nicely. He points out that the months of June and July had heavier precipitation, which slightly delayed construction. Dufoe indicates that Stahl Construction is the primary contractor for the project, and that there is more than just dirt on the ground.

“If you drive by the site, you can see a lot of concrete blocks going up. Those are the stairwells (and) elevator shafts for the three-story classroom edition. And so we’re really excited to see them start to go vertical and laying brick.”

Dufoe has received assurances from Stahl Construction that although there was a minor setback with the weather, the school is anticipated to be finished prior to the original timeline of June 2027.
