Greene County High School doesn’t have an indoor swimming pool, therefore it has no swimming program. Freshman Ava Hinote is the lone Greene County girl swimming for Carroll High under an athletic sharing agreement and she had perhaps her biggest night yet on Tuesday. The Tigers hosted Atlantic and Spencer and Hinote notched three first place finishes and a second in the four races she took part in.

Hinote swam the 500 yard freestyle for the first time this season and place first in 6:21.96. She was first in the 200 yard freestyle in 2:15.57, and was the third leg on the winning 200 yard medley relay that was clocked in 2:09.37. She also was on the second place 400 freestyle relay in 4:10.21.

In the team race, Spencer won 61-33 vs. Carroll and 71-20 vs. Atlantic. Carroll was a 50-35 winner vs. Atlantic.

The Tigers are off until Oct. 7 when they swim at Boone.
