The City of Perry will be blocking off a street in town in order to do some maintenance today and tomorrow.

According to Marketing and Engagement Coordinator Chris Cohea, 16th Street will be closed to the public to go through with street repairs. He describes that the affected sections include Iowa Street to Highway 141, which will be completely blocked off until 3pm today, and then will be limited to one lane only until the end of the project tomorrow. 

Cohea implores drivers to please go around the closed area and that during construction, people should not move barricades or attempt to drive through them, as it presents a safety issue for the employees. He concludes that the project should be done sometime tomorrow morning. Any questions can be directed to Perry City Hall at (515)-465-2481.
