The Stuart People Active for Library Service (PALS) have two speaker events this month, with the first being on Saturday.
PALS member Kathy Johnson says that they will be having Iowan Brad Wilkening for the presentation this week, with his topic on “Lessons of the Holocaust.” She tells Raccoon Valley Radio why they wanted to have Wilkening as a presenter.
“He brings in more of the emotions into the information so you can kind of help live the story and give you more understanding and compassion by studying this terrible period in human history. He’s gonna talk about the history of the Holocaust, the beginning of it, how it got started, the ghettos and the camps. And he has a number of survival stories from people that he has met firsthand and he is going to bring us into a better understanding of that time.”
Johnson mentions that Wilkening has been at some other area libraries, who have all been very pleased with the presentation that he gives. She adds that the free program will begin at 10am at the Stuart Public Library Saturday morning.
