Now that the 2025 Perry Farmer’s Market season is over, Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti reflects on how it went.
Pasutti tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the Farmer’s Markets were held on 16 of the 17 weeks during the four-month span from June through September, as one needed to be canceled due to the weather. She points out that there were 27 regular vendors that attended on a weekly basis, then another 22 special guest businesses joined in at various times as well. Pasutti is happy to see the market continue to grow throughout the seven years she’s been in her role.
“Just overall, really proud of the success of the Farmer’s Market, the growth of the market, having new guests and vendors, continuing on with our specialty themed events and seeing the success of that, and then the partnership with Iowa PBS Kids and the library. Really proud of those programs and being featured at the Iowa Downtown Conference and talking about our Farmer’s Market, and getting a spotlight for that. And then seeing other markets wanting to learn what we do, and how they can do it themselves too.”
Pasutti adds that there were $3,581 that were spent in Kids Bucks and $5,190 were redeemed to go towards the Perry Food Pantry. She concludes that there was an increase in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Double-Up Food Bucks, making $239, which is a gain from last year.
