The Stuart Fire Department is hosting their annual French Toast Supper and Auction tomorrow night.
Assistant Fire Chief Shane Martinson says that the department has been holding the supper for nearly 15 years, with the auction being part of the festivities the last seven to eight years. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio that proceeds from the night are typically earmarked for replacing outdated bunker gear, but if there is something else that needs to be replaced or purchased more urgently, they have used it for that reason as well.
Martinson mentions that everyone is welcome to attend the free will donation meal, and take part in the auction as well. He adds that there is also a raffle that will be going on, and that those interested can purchase tickets up until the drawing, with one ticket for $5 and five for $20. The raffle items available are a quarter of beef with processing included, donated by Schneider Cattle Company and Guthrie County Quality Meats, and a Traeger Woodridge Pellet Grill donated by Stuart Appliance. The festivities will begin at 5:30pm.
