On Friday, the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs football team made the long journey to Waterloo to face off against the Waterloo West Wahawks. The Mustangs got the lead early but couldn’t hang on, falling to Waterloo West 20-14.

Chase Heitland scored twice against the Wahawks, the first being an 80 yard pass from Chase Engel to put the Mustangs ahead of the Wahawks 7-0 in the first. Engel found success again with a five yard rush into the end zone, to put DCG ahead of Waterloo in the second quarter, 14-13. However, the Mustang defense could not contain the Wahawks, and fell to Waterloo West 20-14.

Now 4-2, DCG prepares to take the road again next week, traveling to Marshalltown to face off against the Bobcats. Kick off is scheduled for 7pm.
