Motorists that travel in northern Greene County may be aware of some extra traffic.

According to Jefferson Resident Construction Engineer with DOT Jenny Hoskins, resurfacing projects are happening on Iowa Highways 169 and 175 in Webster County, but some of the detour routes go through Greene County. She says the project started on September 17th when crews were just east of the junction between the two highways and goes through for 11.7 miles to Highway 20. 

Hoskins notes a portion of the marked detour route goes west of Highway 169 onto County Road E-26, through Dana, to Highway 144 in Greene County and as far south as US Highway 30. According to the DOT, motorists should be extra cautious and be aware of additional traffic during the construction project. The DOT is expecting the project to be completed by early November.
