The leader of the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Boys Cross Country Team outlines the mentality he wants his group of guys to follow heading into the back half of their season.
The Tigers have run in six meets, where they have captured a 5th place finish, two 3rd place trophies, a 2nd place in Newton, and won two meets, being the Mike Carr Invitational in Huxley and their latest meet, the Leon Fox Invite in Perry this past Thursday. Head Coach Josh Chapman expresses that a goal he challenged the boys with at the beginning of the year was to finish the 2025 season inside the top-five for Class 3A. He elaborates on the mindset they approach every race with.
“Every time we are faced with a challenge of going against another top-10 ranked team, we want to come out on the winning side of that. We have team goals with our JV program, so we hope to finish with a lot of top-finishers in that JV race and dominate that division as well. So, keeping them focused on that and where we’re closing in on that October championship time where our meets are spread out a little bit more here, so we can get some quality workouts in. And keep them focused on trying to win a conference title, making it to state, and finishing in that top-10.”
ADM will be able to see a preview of the state meet course in Fort Dodge, as they will travel to the Lakeside Municipal Golf Course for their next meet on Thursday. Following that, the Raccoon River Conference meet will be held on Monday, October 13th at Bondurant-Farrar High School.
