The Adel Public Library is gearing up for a festive fall holiday program for teenagers on Wednesday.

Programming Specialist Lily Schwarz tells Raccoon Valley Radio that youth between the ages of 12 and 18 will be designing “Haunted Gingerbread Houses,” in preparation for Halloween. She elaborates why the library wanted to have a program like this in October.

“In December, we do our gingerbread house program where people can come in and decorate the gingerbread houses. This is a bit of a different spin on it (and) I’m excited to see what the teens come up with, they’re always super creative.”

Schwarz mentions that all supplies will be provided by the library and while it is a free activity, it is on a  first come, first serve program available to 16 people. The event is happening from 4-5pm inside the library community room on Wednesday. For more information, contact the Adel Public Library at (515)-993-3512.
