The Perry City Council met in regular session on Monday.

The council was supposed to hold a nuisance abatement meeting for Deegan S.S. Devilbiss on a property along Lucinda Street. However, Devilbiss couldn’t attend the meeting, and asked for a reschedule of the abatement hearing on November 3rd, when he can make an appearance. The council agreed that rescheduling the meeting would be fine, and made a decision to approve.

Other items on the agenda that were approved included a CDBG contract number of $63,578 on the Upper Story Housing Conversion Grant for a property located at 1306 2nd Street owned by Nudgers Kerns Managers LLC, a resolution for a Professional Services Agreement Amendment with Bolton and Menk for the Willis Avenue and Highway 141 Intersection Study to authorize a Revitalize Iowa’s Sound Economy (RISE) Grant not to exceed $13,000, a resolution for John Leonetti to work with City Administrator Sven Peterson on an Executive Coaching Program that will consist of 10 90-minute sessions for a one-year agreement in the amount of $16,000, and a resolution for an agreement for Professional Services with Midwest Vac Professionals for qualified sewer cleaning and inspection services.

Additional items that were approved included a resolution for Professional Services with Municipal Pipe for sewer maintenance, a resolution to accept a proposal of services agreement with IMEG for a plan review process with the incoming companies of JBS Prepared Foods and A.D.R. Axles USA next year, and appointing Justin Petersen to a four-year term for the Planning and Zoning Commission.
