The Jefferson Kiwanis Club recently made a donation as part of their mission of supporting youth.
The Kiwanis Club gave $700 to Caring Hearts of West Central Iowa for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library for Greene County. According to the Kiwanis Club, about 300 Greene County youth are enrolled in the program that provides free, age-appropriate books each month from birth to five years old. The Imagination Library was first established in 1995 by Dolly Parton and it was inspired by her father not being able to read or write.
According to Caring Hearts, their mission as they are the sponsor of the Imagination Library in Greene County, they enhance the quality of life of individuals with disabilities with families and communities.
