On Tuesday, the West Central Valley Wildcat volleyball traveled to Truro to Interstate 35 High School facing off against the Roadrunners. West Central Valley won three straight sets to defeat I-35 3-1.

West Central Valley and the Roadrunners battled in the first set, with I-35 coming away with the victory 25-22. The Wildcats responded, with decisive victories in the next two sets defeating the Roadrunners, 25-11 and 25-12. In the final set, both teams were neck and neck, 23-23, with Macy Long bringing the score to 24-23 for WCV scoring off a dig. Meleah Speichinger got the final serve, and after an exchange, Talia Williams got final touch for the Wildcats going through I-35’s block attempt to secure the 3-1 victory.

Now 6-13 and 2-4 in conference play, WCV travels to Van Meter High School on Thursday for the Bulldog Triangular. The Wildcats face off against Madrid first at 6:15pm.
