The 2025 City and School Elections are on November 4th, but there are some things people should know beforehand.

Guthrie County Auditor Dani Fink says that currently, people may request absentee ballots, and can continue to do so until October 20th. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio why someone may want to make this request.

“If anyone’s homebound or just struggles to get out of their home, we have a lot of individuals that request for that reason. A lot of people maybe are traveling on election day. Some people just prefer it, it’s just easier. They don’t have to worry about trying to get out that day if something comes up. It’s a really great option, a really safe option to be able to get your vote in.”

Fink mentions that her office is not able to begin mailing absentee ballots until October 15th, so people will need to wait until that time before they receive a mail in ballot. She adds that in-person absentee voting also begins on October 15th, with those opting for this choice needing to make their way to the Guthrie County Auditor’s Office, and that they can do this until November 3rd.
