
The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Football Team earned a key district victory on the road in Glenwood on Friday, winning 45-3.
The Tigers and Rams both came into the game with a 5-1 overall record (2-0 in district), and following an early punt from ADM, senior Colby Simons nailed a 38-yard field goal for a 3-0 lead. The next position, Tiger senior Quarterback Hudson Shull rushed in on a 56-yard touchdown for a quick 10-0 advantage going into the second quarter.
ADM continued to roll by scoring two more TDs, including a 17-yard touchdown pass to senior Reece Strittmatter, and a 15-yard run by Shull for 24 first half points. Glenwood did get on the score board with a 27-yard field goal from senior Aaron Christian, as the Tigers led 24-3 at halftime.
The second half saw ADM outscore Glenwood 21-0 with a 38-yard run by senior Leyton Gerleman, then a 63-yard and a 4-yard rushing touchdown by senior running back Reed Obstarczyk to cruise to a 45-3 victory.
In the win, Shull completed 7 passes for 111 yards and 1 touchdown, then ran 14 times for 165 yards. Rams’ junior Ben Carlo had 12 successful passes for 109, then senior Scott Reed Jr. carried the ball 12 times for 87 yards.
Glenwood drops to 5-2 overall (2-1 inside the district), as ADM improves to 6-1 on the season (3-0 in district). The Rams will face off versus Council Bluffs Jefferson this coming Friday, while the Tigers will be in Adel to host Lewis Central.
