A convenient service is happening later this week with Greene County Public Health.

Director Shelby Cooklin says the Drive-Thru Flu Clinic is Wednesday from 3-6:30pm at the Greene County Fairgrounds. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio that anyone six months and older is eligible for a flu vaccine and people can either fill out a form before Wednesday or forms can be filled out at the fairgrounds. Cooklin notes that after submitting the form, a nurse will administer the flu shot without you having to leave your vehicle.

Cooklin points out that this is a successful program that Greene County Public Health provides for the community.

“Really, we’ve done it quite a few years now and it’s been pretty popular with some of the elderly people who maybe, you know, they don’t really want to get out of their vehicles, or people with children. It’s just a lot easier if we come to you and getting it done quickly, and then you don’t even have to get out of your car, and it’s over with.”

Cooklin adds that if people can’t make it to the Drive-Thru Clinic, but would like a flu shot, public health also has flu shot clinics in their office at the Greene County Medical Center Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10am-noon and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1-3pm. Flu vaccines are also available with a primary care physician, pharmacies and clinic.
