The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union has officially released volleyball postseason assignments, and the Perry Jayettes now know the path they’ll need to take if they hope to punch a ticket to the State Tournament.

Perry has been placed in Class 4A’s Region 4 bracket, where they’ve been seeded fifth out of six teams.  The Jayettes, who entered the seeding day with a 2-20 record, will open their playoff campaign on the road against Winterset.  That first-round matchup is set for October 21.

A win over the Huskies would send the Jayettes into a tough second-round matchup against top-seeded Dallas Center-Grimes on October 23. DC-G, a perennial powerhouse in the region, earned a bye in the opening round.

The other side of the Region 4 bracket features third-seeded North Polk hosting sixth-seeded Des Moines Hoover in the first round.  The winner of that match will face second-seeded Adel-Desoto-Minburn, also on October 23.  The Regional Finals are scheduled for October 28, with a state tournament berth on the line.

Before turning their full attention to the postseason, the Jayettes will look to finish the regular season strong.  They host a tournament on Monday and will wrap up their schedule with a road trip to the Woodward-Granger Invite on Saturday.

With the postseason looming, Perry will aim to build momentum and confidence as they prepare for the high-stakes challenge ahead.
