Several kids are once again going to benefit from a winter program in Greene County.
New Opportunities Greene County Coordinator Teresa Lansman says they are teaming up with Greene County Adopt-A-Family for the Coats for Kids program, where 135 kids that includes 52 families will receive a variety of winter-related clothing. In addition to a winter coat for all school-aged youth, those who are in 4th grade and younger will also get snow pants and boots, along with stocking hats and mittens.
Lansman points out that even though the distribution date is this Saturday, people can still make donations.
“Because if we don’t get them out to the kids for this drive, we save them for next year or even throughout the winter when families move in, or families are in a hard situation, we can help them out with many items.”
Lansman adds that monetary donations will need to be made to Greene County Adopt-A-Family and can be dropped off at the Greene County New Opportunities Office at 1401 North Elm Street or to Sherry Graven at the Greene County Engineer’s Office inside the Greene County Courthouse.
