The Panorama School Board met in regular session on Monday night.
Superintendent Kasey Huebner says that they started things off as usual with their good news segment, highlighting increased band and choir participation. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio that he also had to share a good word about one of the middle school staff members.
“When people say teachers don’t work after hours, I would beg to differ. Mr. (Mike) Dorhout. He’s working in a garden. He picked 192 gourds that he will use for next year for a little project for middle schoolers. So when you’re talking about picking 192 gourds, that’s a lot of time, a lot of effort, and a lot of energy. So we thank Mr. Dorhout for taking that extra time to do that for students.”
Huebner mentions that the Board approved the 2024-25 special education deficit, a resolution regarding the expenditure of funds in the flexibility account within the general fund, and 2025-26 summer contracts. He adds that they also approved Board policies 501.8 for Educational Records and 708 for Care, Maintenance and Disposal of School District Records in order to stay up to date with state regulations.
