The City of Adel has been looking for a new City Administrator since June and Mayor Jim Peters provides an update of how that process has been going.
Peters tells Raccoon Valley Radio after former Adel City Administrator Anthony Brown resigned, the council decided to hire Theia Management Consulting Services as a search firm to help in the process. He explains that Theia Management fielded applications to interested candidates, and the council meeting on October 14th entered into a closed session for further discussion. Peters elaborates on the reason why they went that direction.
“All the applicants wanted their interest in the city administrator position to be discussed confidentially. We went through applications and narrowed the number down to the ones that we wanted to do interviews with.”
Peters mentions that the next steps will be to interview the candidates virtually, then condense the list even further, and have in-person interviews with the remaining applicants after that. He says that all the interviews will be done sometime next month, with the anticipation of naming a new city administrator by the end of the year.
