Older youth in Jefferson are invited to use their creative minds, while making things with candy at the Jefferson Public Library.
Youth Services Librarian Bailey Mount says individuals in grades 5th-12th can participate in the Haunted Gingerbread Houses program this coming Tuesday from 4:30-5:30pm at the library. She explains that after their structures are built, each participant will write and deliver a paragraph that describes their creation. Mount notes that this gives the youth an opportunity to show their creative thinking and public speaking skills. She talks about how last year’s event went.
“Last year’s event went amazingly. It was the most kids that we had, I think we had 12. Good mix of boys and girls, which is always important to me that everyone’s coming and having a good time. Honestly, it was probably one of my favorite programs for the year, and the response just continues to be so incredible to it. So, it’s one we’re going keep doing, as well as they keep coming and having fun.”
Mount adds that the registration deadline is Monday and it is free to participate. Click here to sign up.
