Two Greene County libraries are teaming up for a free program on Monday.
The Grand Junction and the HF and Maude E Marchant Memorial Library in Scranton are bringing in educator and member of the Iowa Holocaust Council, Brad Wilkening to present, “Lessons of the Holocaust,” as he discusses the impacts of how that time in history still resonates in today’s society. The two libraries say Wilkening’s mission is to educate everyone about the Holocaust and focus on the importance of making informed decisions and knowing the consequences of inaction, about the state-sponsored prosecution of six million Jews by Nazi Germany in World War II.
Both of the libraries are sponsoring these free programs that are taking place at the Grand Junction Community Center at 2pm and the library in Scranton at 6pm. The libraries are especially inviting any middle or high school student to attend.
