The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Cross Country Teams will be racing to keep their seasons alive tomorrow in Pella featuring many Iowa high schools, with the goal of advancing to the state meet in Fort Dodge.

ADM girls and boys were assigned the state qualifying meet site of Pella, and will be running versus Boone, Carlisle, Clarke, Clear Creek-Amana, Creston, Fairfield, Knoxville, Newton, Oskaloosa, Pella, Saydel, and Cedar Rapids Xavier. Last year, Tigers’ sophomore Elliotte Von Roden made it individually for the girls, while ADM’s boys team advanced as a full squad, then placed 9th overall out of 15 schools.

The Tigers have recent experience from the course in Pella, as they ran it in the second meet of the season. Senior Ella Popp believes that the previous race will give them a leg up in tomorrow’s competition.

“I think it’s a challenging course, but I know mentally that we can all push through it, and I don’t know if the other teams can, but I know we have a team ranked ahead of us in Pella and Boone, but we previously beat Pella at conference, so I’m looking forward to that and hopefully we can place second.”

Tomorrow’s meet will be run at Central College in Pella, with the varsity girls going first around 4pm, then the varsity boys will follow.
