A Jefferson man was recently sentenced to prison for domestic abuse assault.

According to court documents, 29-year-old Devin Holm-Morales pled guilty to an amended charge of an aggravated misdemeanor for domestic abuse assault-strangulation. He was sentenced to two years in prison; which was to be served concurrently with a one year jail sentence for an unrelated case. 

The charge stemmed from an assault incident on July 22nd. Jefferson Police Officers found noticeable injuries on the victim that indicated a physical assault took place. 

As per the plea agreement, Holm-Morales had another aggravated misdemeanor for his second offense for domestic abuse assault dismissed.
