It was an exciting day for Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs cross country on Wednesday as both Mustang teams qualified for state. The Mustang girls placed first with a team score of 37 points while the DCG boys placed second with a score of 53.

For the girls, DCG ending the state qualifying meet with five girls in the top 15, with Piper Messerly and Tenley Heidgerken leading the charge in first and second place. For the boys, the Mustangs finished with four top 15 finishes, with Graham Ibeling in third place leading the Mustang herd.

Both Mustang teams now look to achieve their state tournament dreams, as DCG travels to Fort Dodge on Saturday, November 1st for the Class 4A state cross country meet.
