The 2025 high school football regular season will come to a close tomorrow night. Greene County travels to Harlan to face the Harlan Community Cyclones at historic Merrill Field in the last contest of 2025 for both squads. Neither will make the Class 3A playoffs, but that doesn’t mean there is not much to play for.

Greene County is 4-4 overall and 1-3 in District 6 while the Cyclones are 3-5, 2-2. A win by the Rams will assure them of a winning season and a fifth victory, something head coach Caden Duncan’s teams have achieved in all but one of his seven seasons here. Harlan Community would finish in third place in the district with a victory, having lost by four points to Carroll High, and by five last week to Atlantic on a touchdown via kickoff return with just 20 seconds left on the clock. That’s how close the Cyclones are to being a playoff team. The Rams lost to Carroll 35-0 and fell to Atlantic 46-7.

Friday’s game can be heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com with coverage at 6:30 p.m. and kickoff at 7 o’clock.
