Young girls in Jefferson that want to learn skills for a popular winter sport can sign up now.

Jefferson Parks and Recreation Department Assistant Director Henry Pohlmeyer says the kindergarten through 6th sixth girls basketball camp will be held this coming Tuesday and Wednesday from 4:15-5:15pm at the Greene County Community Center. He explains one main difference with the girls camp from the recent  boys basketball camp.

“And unlike the boys one, we’re only doing one division. It’s just easier. There’s typically a lower turnout for it, so it’s just more manageable in that sense.”  

Pohlmeyer points out that the Greene County High School Varsity Girls Basketball Coach Tori Ogden and some of the players will lead this camp. The registration fee is $25 for community center members and $30 for non-members, which also includes a t-shirt. Contact the community center at 515-386-3412 or click here to sign up.
