It’s runners in Class 2A and 1A in action today at State Qualifying Cross-County Coed Meets around Iowa. The 3A and 4A schools had their State Qualifiers on Wednesday.

Greene County is in Class 2A for the postseason and Coach Jeff Lamoureux and the Rams go to the golf course at Eagle Grove today with action starting at 4 p.m. The girls from Van Meter and the boys from Denver are the highest ranked teams in the field. The top three teams for girls and top three for boys will qualify for the State Coed Meet north of Ft. Dodge in just over a week from now.

Individuals on the State Qualifying teams are automatic State qualifiers, as are runners who finish in the top 15, as well as the top five runners who are not on a team that makes it to State. Coach Lamoureux is optimistic about the chances of State qualification for one or more individuals on the Greene County teams.
