The Dallas County Conservation Board is currently raising money following a fire that damaged the Raccoon River Valley Trail Bridge in Adel this past spring, and was recently given a generous donation that pushes them closer to their fundraising goal.

Conservation Outreach Coordinator Jeni Baker tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the Bock Family Foundation awarded the conservation board with a $10,000 grant for repairs. This past May,  three teenagers were arrested for allegedly setting it on fire. She says the organization set a goal to raise $100,000, and thanks to this donation, the conservation is less than $500 from achieving that mark. Baker is appreciative of the generous grant funds.

“It was perfect timing. It got us so close to our goal. So we’re pretty excited about that, and much appreciated to the Bock Family Foundation.”

She encourages anyone to contribute with any donation they may have by going online at https://www.dallascountyiowa.gov/669/Bridge-Us-Back-Campaign, calling their office at (515)-465-3577, or submitting a check to the Dallas County Conservation Foundation.
