The 2025 Perry Elks Hoop Shoot Contest was held on Saturday, after over two dozen youth took part in it.

Contest Director Travis Landgrebe tells Raccoon Valley Radio that 29 youths were involved in the friendly free-throwing shooting competition, which took place at Perry High School. He shares that youth were split into six age divisions, and the premise was to make as many free-throw attempts as possible in 25 tries. 

Landgrebe describes that the highest number of free throws made was 20. He adds the contest is divided between boys and girls and the six winners in their age category are moving onto the district contest, which is happening in the City of Jefferson on January 3rd. Drew Adair = 12-13 year old boys

Ella Hardy = 12-13 year old girls

Semere Goitom = 10-11 year old boys

Brynn Menke = 10-11 year old girls

Will Adair = 8-9 year old boys

Charlotte Moe = 8-9 year old girls
