With Halloween on Friday, the Perry community will feature several events to take part in.
The Perry Chamber of Commerce is holding its annual Spooktacular Downtown Trick or Treat Walk on Friday from 4-6pm, and Director Lynsi Pasutti says that 2nd Street from Otley and Pattee Streets, then Willis Avenue between 1st and 3rd Streets will be shut down for the festivities. She outlines that over 50 businesses will be participating in passing out candy to families. Pasutti highlights that it’s fun seeing everyone dressed up in their costumes together.
“Either all the kids are matching or a group of kids, but sometimes adults get into it too, and it’s just apart of the fun. So you can be a kid yourself if you want to, maybe you’ll get a treat, I’m not sure. I can’t speak to that.”
While that is happening, the Dallas County Hospital will have their Safe and Healthy Trick or Treat near the north parking lot from 5-6:30pm. Public Relations of Marketing and Foundation Director Tom Harmsen details how the event will work.
“Guests will be escorted throughout the first level (of the atrium) and then exit by our clinic. Our staff (will be) in costumes, we’ll have pumpkins on display from our annual Pumpkin Carving Contest. And we encourage people to come dressed up and have a fun time with us.”
Following those events, the Perry community will engage in the beggars night for kids to do traditional trick or treating throughout town from 6-8pm.
