The Greene County Board of Supervisors met Monday in regular session.
The Board approved a retirement resolution for Mike Ostendorf for his 23 years of service in the Secondary Roads Department, most recently in the Rippey area. The Board also approved the Sheriff’s quarterly report of fees for July through September that was tabled from last week’s meeting. Sheriff Jack Williams explained the Board’s question about payments from the other towns for law enforcement coverage, and said that all of the towns do not pay their portions at the same time and so amounts are always skewed on the report.

Next, the Board approved increasing the full-time salaries of the Ambulance Department employees. Supervisor Dan Benitz motioned to increase the salaries from the recommendation of the consulting organization that was hired, but it failed for lack of a second, and it was the highest paid option. The Board then approved by a 4-1 vote to increase the salaries to the second highest amounts, including paramedics at $27 per hour, advanced Emergency Medical Technicians at $25 per hour and a basic EMT for $23 per hour.
Next, the Board acted as the Drainage District Board of Trustees and approved paying invoices for work done by Wilks Construction in five districts that totaled $9,717. They also approved payments to AgriVia for doing the responsibilities of a Drainage District Clerk for a total of $300.
During reports, the Greene County Attorney’s Office said that the two jury trial dates that were set for later this week and next week, have been postponed most likely to next year. It was mentioned that the defendants withdrew their requests for a speedy trial.
